To PharmPK subscribers: I have been searching Medline for a review dealing
with pharmacodynamic variability. However, since pharmacodynamics is not a
separate MESH term, I have not so far found any good review except for
"Predicting effective drug concentrations for individual patients.
Determinants of pharmacodynamic variability" by Levy in Clin Pharmacokinet.
1998 Apr;34(4):323-33. Can anyone please recommend good reviews on this
issue?

Dear Petter,
You may want to search also under "Kinetics of Pharmacological
Effects (the old
term for "pharmacodynamics"). In addition, the following reference may be
useful:
Pharmacodynamics by Richard L. Lalonde, (Chap. 4, in Applied Pharmacokinetics
3rd Edn., Applied Therapeutics Inc, 1992.
Hope this helps.

Dear Dr. Endresen,
I saw your note in PharmPK and performed a search on Google.com using the
terms "pharmacodynamic variability". b An abundance of information was
found. I am enclosing a copy of the first page of the search results. A
total of 67 references were found. I hope this helps at least a little.
Sincerely

If you use PubMed to search MEDLINE, in the upper right corner of each
listed reference is an item called "related articles". I have found this
feature to be pretty helpful.
PubMed search engine is at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/PubMed/

Dr. Anders Grahnen posted the following to the list in 1999:

I consider it an excellent overview on the topic.
