Dear readers,
Thank you for all the useful comments and clarifications with this
regard (flip-flop kinetics).
I have an additional question and that is with regard to non-linear kinetics:
Is it possible that half-life estimated from the declining part of the oral
plasma-concentration profile is longer than that obtained following iv-bolus
administration of the same dose, due to the presence of non-linear kinetics at
that dose?
Thank you for any suggestions.

It is possible. The best thing is to do IV PK study at different
dose and find out whether the compound shows linear or non-linear PK.

half-life is only meaningful for linear kinetics (1st order). If it is not
linear kinetics, half-life calculated from different concentration ranges
will be different.
