Hi Eric,
I do not know specifically whether the rat parvo virus will influence
pharmacokinetic studies but it is known that infections with other
viruses, such as influenza, can alter CYP450 activity (and probably
other drug metabolising enzymes) in animals and humans. This is also
true for a number of other agents that induce an immunological or
inflammatory response. The alteration of metabolism during infection is
thought to be mediated through cytokines, particularly IFN in viral
infections.
