Does anyone know how to calculate the amount of active ingredient to be
added to the two parts of an oral dosage form with delayed release
properties ? One fraction would be available for immediate release; the
second with a certain delay.

Dear Dr.Kinget
I had never required to do that(calculation of loading dose), but
I have read it in text book - Industrial Pharmacy By Lachman
during my undergraduate days. There are two cases one based on
First and second on zero order kinetics.
Sometimes it is just plain logic, you do not need a math, give
normal single dose as a loading dose. Depends on your drug its
application, patent strategy and so on.

Dear Dr.Kinget
The half life of the drug and the minimum effective
concentration you need the molecule to attain would be
the criteria on which we need to base our dose
calculations(both loading and sustained release).
