Hi everyone,Back to the Top
I'm planning to undergo enzyme (CYP) induction studies in rats. Two
methods
could be possible:
- Administration of the test substance to the animals for several days,
collection of the livers, preparation of microsomes and incubation with
CYP substrates.
-Exposure of hepatocytes ( commercially available) to the test
substance for 2-3 days and addition of CYP substrates to the media.
I would appreciate if someone could tell me which method would be
better for such studies.
Many thanks,
Samia

If you are planning to do CYP induction study, It will better to do by
in vitro exposure of drug to hepatocytes first - For protocol refer to
In vitro techbologies.
If you find any thing interesting (positive induction) then you can
supplement with the in vivo data. All the best.
