I will mention two other programs that have built-in ODE solvers whereBack to the Top
you just write the ODE (linear or nonlinear) with the initial or
boundary conditions. You can do both simulation and nonlinear
regression with these programs. They are: BMDP (Biomedical Data
Processing; currently sold by SYSTAT/SPSS and MLAB (Gary Knott;
originally deeloped at the DCRT of NIH; now sold by Gary). BMDP,
of,course, is an extremely powerful collection of statistical programs
for both uni and multivariate techniques includind time series and
other spectral modelling. MLAB is a general purpose mathematical tool
developed for mathematicians and physicists. It is very user friendly
but a little pricey.
