Hi All, I have a compound that has very low bioavailability (~5-10%)
after PO dosing. Would it make sense to dose IP? When does one choose
to dose IP? Thanks.

Hello MK (?),
your information is not so large to answer in a correct way.
But in my mind I would suggest an IP dosing if you do not have any
opportunity to dose IV.
IP dosing has the advantage to avoid the hepatic first pass metabolism
which means that bioavailability should be enhanced if this was the
issue of your PO bioavailability.
Personally I dose IP when I want to get the optimal absorption of a
quite insoluble drug. This means that I dose IP when I want to get the
max amount of drug bioavailable and if no IV dosing is possible.
I hope this answers your question.
Cheers,
