Dear Colleagues,
Reading some older journal articles related to drug metabolism is
sometimes very confusing as different nomenclature were used in the old days. For example, S-methphenytoin hydroxylase = CYP2C19, Debrisoquine
hydroxylase = CYP2D6. I would like to ask if anyone can kindly direct me to some websites or references that contain a comprehensive list of enzymes with
both the old and modern nomenclatures listed side by side. Thanks!
Please note that I have already tried some popular P450 websites but couldn't find the information that I want (e.g. http://www.imm.ki.se/CYPalleles, David Nelson's Website, http://www.icgeb.org/~p450srv).
Sincerely,
Caly Chien

Caly,
The first P450 paper (Nebert et al. DNA v6 pp1-11 1987) with the
interim (roman numerals) version of the nomenclature lists many of the
alternative names of the enzymes, particularly those used by the Levin,
Guengerich and Waxman groups. There are other tables in books (e.g.
Paul Ortiz de Montellano's original "black book").
All the very best,
Bernard
