Dear all,Back to the Top
this is probably out of the scope of PK, but I need some extra-help: I
need urgently a formula/method for sample size calculation to assess
clinically a diagnostic test (sensitivity, specificity,...).
Thanks

Your query to calculate Sample Size was forwarded from 'PharamPK' .Can
you please provide me the following details so that I can help you in
sample size calculation.
1. The variables of interest in your study, including the type of
data
2. The desired power
3. The desired significance level
4. The effect size of clinical importance
5. The standard deviation of continuous outcome variables
6. Whether analysis will involve one- or two-sided tests
7. Aspects of the design of your study: e.g. is your study ....
* a simple randomized controlled trial (RCT)
* a cluster randomized trial
* an equivalence trial (see D-7)
* a non-randomized intervention study (see B-5.10c)
* an observational study
* a prevalence study
* a study measuring sensitivity and specificity
* Does your study have paired data?
* Does your study include repeated measures?
* Are groups of equal sizes?
* Are the data hierarchical?
