Dear
Like other fluoroquinolones, Norfloxacin is absorpbed from upper small
intestine. Specific process or mechanism of absorption is not known.
Many studies have been done for studying the absorption of
fluoroquinolones. Solubility of fluoroquinolones reduces at pH values
near isoelectric points. So GI pH definitely affects the
bioavailability of the Norfloxacin. It is postulated that it is
absorbed by a facilitated process.
