Dearl all,
Some researcher in the early investigation on PK-PD relationschip of
irinotecn introduced the use of of biliary index as a surrogate
measure of
biliary excretion of the SN38 active metabolite of irinotecn that
correlates
with the risk of diarrhea.
they defines the biliary index as following:
BI= AUC SN38/AUC SN38G*AUC Irinotecan.
Where SN38 is the active metabolite of irinotecn, SN38G is it
glucoronide
and Irinotecn the parent drug.
Can somebody help me to clarify the meaning of such AUC ratio ?
moreover such parameters can be use properly in PK-PD correlation
such as
with heamtologica toxicity and response?
Many thank in advance for the help
Giuseppe
