Dear Group,
If predicted, Can we use activated charcoal to evaluate the
enterohepatic recirculation of NCEs since upon binding to the conjugated
form it may hamper the enterohepatic reabsorption to hasten the fecal
elimination of NCEs.This would be probably be reflected as an increase in
CL systemic in contrast to animals admimistered with NCEs per se.Since the
charcoal would delay the absorption process if it is coadministered orally,
it may be reasonable to delay the ingestion of the charcoal after NCE
administration. I would highly appreciate if i can be explained whether the
time delay of charcoal ingestion in such experimental design would be based
on gastric or intestinal transit time of NCEs and any references would be
handy.
I would welcome the suitable and simple experimental approach to address
enterohepatic circulation of NCEs.
Thanks in advance.
