One of my graduate students plans to conduct a metabolic interaction
study in Sprague-Dawley rats involving griseofulvin. Can anyone
provide us with samples of 4-desmethylgriseofulvin and/or 6-
desmethylgriseofulvin? These griseofulvin metabolites will be used
for HPLC analytical purposes only.
Thank you..

We isloated this some 25 years ago when I was a postdoc at Univ Iowa,
unfortunately I have long left UI and don't have any material but the
extraction method is fairly straight forward.
Wagner RS, Charles BG, Lach JL. Isolation of 6-demethylgriseofulvin
from urine. Clin Chem 26, 363-364, 1980.
Hope this helps
Cheers
