Dear colleagues
I am working the HPLC method for the determination of
content uniformity of levonorgestrel and ethinyl
estradiol in oral contraceptives according to British
Pharmacopoeia 1993. BP 1993 recommends using
2-hydroxybiphenyl as an internal standard. The problem
is that I cannot find it. Could I replace it with
other? Which one? Have you any idea?

Hi Zorica,
It may be that you're using out-of-date nomenclature in your search
for 2-hydroxybiphenyl. The link I've provide shows "2-phenylphenol"
and a brand name "PESTANAL" for the analytical standard version of
this compound.
