Dear colleagues,
We are considering performing a cynomolgus monkey study at a CRO and
have a choice of using either
Mauritius (African) or Asian (e.g., Vietnamese) cyno monkeys. Are you
aware of any differences between the Mauritius and the Asian cyno
monkeys?
Thanks

Dear Ritu,
The Mauritius cynos are genetically homogeneous, and in Mauritius are
free of virus (herpes I believe is the one transmissible to humans
and potentially deadly). My past experience was that Asian origin
cynos were much more genetically heterogeneous. We could talk
further off-line.
