Hi all,
I would like to clearly identify the P450 responsible for the
hydroxylation
of the testosterone but I couldn't find which P450 is involved for each
position of hydroxylation (except for 6B).
Can someone of you help me by sending the references, links or other
sources
for this work?

Dear Fabrice,
In Humans: Most of the 6beta-hydroxytestosterone is produced by
CYP3A4 and to some extent
by CYP3A5, how ever other metabolites produced are 2alpha- by
CYP3A4/5, 2beta- by CYP3A4,
15alpha- by CYP3A4, 15beta- by CYP3A3/4.
In SD rat: 7alpha generated specifically in rats by CYP2A1 and to
some extent by CYP2A2,
other major metabolites are 2beta and 6beta by CYP3A1 to great
extent. 2beta can also
produced by CYP3A2 and 1A1, 6beta can also produced by CYP2C13, 2A2,
3A2, 1A1/2, 2C11 to
some extent. Other metabolites like 2alpha by CYP2C11, 15beta by
CYP3A1. 16alpha will
generated to great extent by CYP2C11 and to some extent by CYP2B1/2,
2C7, 2C13. 16beta
wil l produce to great extent by CYP2B1/2, and to some extent by
CYP2B1/2, 2C7, 2C13.
In our experience 6beta-hydroxytestosterone is produced in a
detectable limits by HPLC in
human hepatocytes. In rats both 6beta- and 16alpha-
hydroxytestosterone are produced when
detected using HPLC.
