hi every one,
I have one doubt.
ie how to set sampling time points for the product having
time for tmax is more than the time for t(half )
ie for example
tmax for One product is 1.8 hrs.
t1/2 for the same product is 1.7 hrs.
kindly give suggestion how to go for.

Hi Deva,
Tmax of a compound is determined by its Ka and Kel.
When you have Tmax and t1/2 values, you can simulate the PK profile
of the drug in Q, assuming F=1 (or an known value), and taking Vd
from the literature. Simple way is to workout for one-compartment
model. Based on the simulations, one can define the time points for
PK study. Hope this helps.

Dear Devisha,
We need to fix time point so that we will get idea about absorption,
Tmax, Cmax and elimination of the test and reference medicine.
We need to fix time point till 7 half life (11.9 hr). So we can go
for collecting blood sample till 12 hours after dosing. I suggest the
following time points i.e. Pre-dose (0.0 hr), 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1.0,
1.25, 1.5, 1.75, 2.0, 2.25, 2.5, 2.75, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5,
6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0, 10.0 and 12.0 hrs. Now total time point for
sample collection is 24. If you wish you can delete 0.25, 0.75 and
2.75 hr time points, so the total time point for blood collection
would be 21.
I am not an expert in pharmacokinetics and expect some more
experienced member of the group will come forward to answer the
question.
Regards,
Sumanta.

Dear Devisha,
Can you tell us the tmax and t1/2 values, so we can try to understand
what is actual problem.
Thanx & Regards

tmax for One product is 1.8 hrs.
t1/2 for the same product is 1.7 hrs. (just i have given example in
