I am working on an IV formulation for a compound that I am planning
to test on rats for a 2 week toxicology study. My lab is thinking of
dissolving the drug in 1% triethylamine. pH of the final solution is
9. I have not had much experience with triethlyamine. I am worried
about the toxicity triethyamine itself can produce. We will be using
jugular catheterized rats and we are intending to give it as a
bolus. Is triethylamine at 1% safe enough to be be given as a bolus
or should I use an infusion pump for a slower delivery.Any advice or
suggestions
would be greatly appreciated
