Hi there...
Well the following software are good
1. Oracle Clinical (aka OC, the best!)- Cost 12,000-15,000 US$ per
licence plus 22% annual maintenance fee
2. Medidata Rave: (Cost unknown, goto www.medsol.com)
3. Phaseforward's Clintrial and Inform (incomplete but reliable) -
for cost - goto www.phaseforward.com and contact the sales team -
sorry again
4. Open Clinica (FREE!!! download installers from openclinica.org -
however its not a validated software and not as advanced as OC, so
you may have probs if your sponsor is a foreign company. Few
educational institutions are trying it. Its installed on my laptop
but i havenot completely evaluated it myself
Also, try to remember the costs involved in purchasing and
maintaining the server, technical persons, CDM team
Questions: Why don't you outsource the study CDM activities - it may
be cheaper. Also, Oracle will not install OC, you will need a vendor
like our co.Are you planning to buy? I may be able to advise you more
based on your need. Let me know if you need any more help.
Just remember - (1) the above softwares do not do stats/medical
writing but can be programmed to give outputs for stats evaluation
and (2) they are not good for BA and BE studies at all. If your
target is BA/BE then dont invest in the same. (3) if you are looking
at just remote data capture and purely CRF design and electronic data
capturing on CRF, then Inform from Phaseforward is cheap and best,
has integration with clintrial and can even export data in OC format
and generate submission ready crf's.

Dear Raghavendra,
OpenClinica (http://www.openclinica.org) is a good one.
I have used several other softwares (I will not mention them, for
courteasy)
I started to use OpenClinica for IIT only since last month.
It is easy to use and free when you manage yourself.
It is also flexible and has industrial strength.
It is rapidly evolving, I expect it will soon surpass many competitors.
