Dear all,
Can anyone suggest a compiler to run with ADAPT? The ones suggested in
the USC Biosimulation webpage are not available anymore, and the one I
have now (which is OK for NONMEM) does not work (words from our IT
department who is taking care of the installation).
Thanks in advance!
Edgar

Hi Edgar,
You might wish to consider switching to S-ADAPT (written by Robert
Bauer and available from the USC site) since it can be compiled with
G95 (a free Fortran package which is included with S-ADAPT).
G95 compiled programs may run a bit slower than those compiled with
Intel's Visual Fortran (but the price of the former is very
reasonable :-) !).

You should be able to buy the Compaq Visual Fortran. It's not
supported by Intel or Compaq/HP but for the purposes of running
ADAPTII it works. Here is the website.

Dear Edgar,
ADAPTII User's ReadMe suggests:
Prior to installing ADAPT you must install either:
Compaq Visual Fortran (version 6.0 or higher) or Digital Visual
Fortran (version 5.0, 6.0) or Microsoft Fortran PowerStation version
4.0 Only the Standard Edition of these compilers is needed; on
installation you can select the Typical Installation option. See the
compiler installation instructions for memory and disk space
requirements.
NONMEM is pure F77 code, while ADAPTII contains GUI elements (provided
by Visual Fortran).
I did not try to compile ADAPTII by the other compilers. But I think
it can be compiled by G95 without Plot function. You'd better download
the Unix version and read the installation script and try.
Good luck!
