Dear Members
Have anybody used guar gum as a rate controlling polymer,if so how
much daily intake is permitted. As per literature LD 50 value is
about 6.7 gm/Kg in mouse, rats and rabbits. Taking that in to
consideration it comes about 400 gm per 60 Kg normal human being.
FDA's IIG lists around 35 mg by oral route. I feel FDA's IIG database
is only a guidance and not the limits set forth.
My formulation employs about 250 mg of guar gum.
Guar gum traditionally have been used as a dietary supplement.
I appreciate expert's opinion and direction.
Thanks
Pankaj Gupta
