hi
i would appreciate if anybody could tell me about cell passage of
Caco-2 cells used in transport studies. in literature it is given that
cell passage of ~ 40-80 (compiled from different references) can be
used. but in my opinion, if more the cell passage, lesser the
expression of transporter proteions and enzymes. is this correct? any
practical information or reference will help much.

Dear Sachin,
You can definately use the passages mentioned (40-80) provided there
should not be a change in the morphology and the growth pattern of the
cells, try to avoid the passages above 80 as there will be some
changes in the data genarated for efflux studies from such high
passage no's
