Dear all,
Can anybody suggest me the list of solvents can be used in sample preparation for LC-MS analysis. And please let me know the reasons why all other solvents (though volatile) cannot be used for the same.

Dear Sripuram,
You can use as solvent in LC-MS/MS analysis the next compounds: water, methanol, acetonitrile, ethanol, propanol, ethyl acetate, ammonia ot THF. Maybe your problem is more related with buffers, in order to avoid ion suppresion you have to use the lowest buffer concentration (5 to 20 mM). A list of additives that you can use are: TFA (TFA cause corrosion to "stainless" surfaces, descomposes some samples,..), acetic acid, formic acid (the most commontly used), acetate, formiate, ammonium, triethylamine,...
