Dear Group Members
I wanted to know whether BCRP transporter assay can be set up using
Caco-2 cells.

Dear Himanshu,
Yes, you can . you can use selective substrate as 3 Estron Sulfate and
inhibitor as FTC

We have measured the expression level of four well known ABC
transporters in Caco-2 cells (BCRP, MRP1, MRP2 and P-gp or MDR1).
All the four transporters are expressed in Caco-2 cells at mRNA level.
Expression of MRP2 is the most important followed by MRP1 and MDR1
(representing about 30% of MRP2).
Expression of BCRP in Caco2 cells is however, very low (only 1% of
MRP2).
