Does anyone know of information on in vitro metabolism of cytarabine?
There is evidence that cytarabine undergoes deamination in the liver, but I was looking for specific
conditions for microsomal metabolism.

Cytarabine is a prodrug. It is transported intracellularly by ENT1 and phosphorylated by
deoxycytidine kinase and then by nucleotide kinases to cytosine arabinoside triphosphate. This
compound is inactivated by cytidine deaminase and then dephosphorylated.

cytosols and S9s may have some CD activity: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21804305. Plasma
definitely has to be stabilized.
its not a P450 metabolism but you might see some metabolism in the incubations.
