Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone knows of a drug whose renal clearance exceeds that of PAH. I guess the
drug would have to be one that distributes to some extent into formed elements but can still be
completely extracted from plasma and blood cells by active secretion processes. Obviously, it would
have to be an exceptional case since the drug would likely have to be somewhat lipophilic to enter
the blood cells and the lipophilicity would also tend to allow passive reabsorption, thus reducing
its renal clearance. Thanks for your insights.

Hi Philip
You could try looking here for possible options Clin Pharmacokinet. 2003;42(14):1193-211.
Principles and clinical application of assessing alterations in renal elimination pathways
Best wishes

Hi Carl,
Thanks a lot for pointing me to that reference. I searched through it but didn't see any examples of
drug clearance values that exceed that of PAH.
Best,
Philip
