Dear all,
I’d appreciate helps from the group on reference papers about known CYP 3A4 inhibitors in fatty
food. We observed an increase of compound exposure in health volunteers fed with fatty food
comparing to those regular meal-fed. Would there be other explanations to the observation as well?
Many thanks in advance.

Fatty food results in production of increased bile and pancreatic fluid which promote dissolution of
poorly soluble drugs. The net result is increased sbsorption. Fatty food also delays stomach
emptying time there by prolonging the Tmax value. This is the most likely explanation of your
findings.
I hope this helps.

Fatty food results in production of increased bile and pancreastic fluid which increase the poorly
soluble drugs entering lymphatic system. In turn, drugs in lymphatic system will be
released/deliveried to blood. The net result is increased in systemic exposure.
Thanks,
Jack
