Has anyone had any experience in using induction of CYP450 to treat an acute
poisoning, if so please tell me with what specific chemicals.
Any info would be appreciated!
Thank you

Since maximal induction takes several days, this does not seem like a
logical treatment approach for an acute poisoning

Dear Sirs
I agree with Leslie Floren, the use of CY inducers are not recommended for
acute poisoning. Usualy one should try to inhibit the CY activity. By the
way, alcohol is a good CY inducer.

Dear Kerry
I also agree about the length of time taken to induce enzymes, the
other thing you would have to consider is whether the metabolites are
also toxic eg paracetamol.
