Hello. I am a trainee in clinical pharmacology, interested in
drug disposition related to CYP3A.
We are planning on setting up the ERMBT (erythromycin breath
test) in our lab.
I have done a preliminary search on references, but some
practical problems are not solved.
Any information in reply to the following questions would be
greatly appreciated.
1. Is there a full commercial kit available or do I have to buy
things separately? (C14-ERM, trapping solution and container,
cocktail solution, etc.)
2. Does anybody have a detailed standard protocol for performing
the test? (Apparatus, procedures, dose, timing, etc.)
Thank you.

There is a company -Metabolic Solutions Inc- that is involved in providing
ERMBT for use in clinical trials and would probably be able to answer the
questions you have. The company has a website: http://www.metsol.com
I hope this is helpful
