[Please reply to (matthieu.kaltenbach.-a-.univ-reims.fr) and not to
the PharmPK list. - db]
I have a pharmacy student (PharmD degree to be awarded this coming June)
currently enrolled in a program (equivalent to a master degree) entitled
"Analysis of drugs and cosmetics" at our University. As required by her
curriculum, she has to spend 6 to 9 month in a pharmaceutical (or any
other) company to gain some practical experience in the following areas:
1. Drug analysis (method development, assay validation, quality control)
2. Quality control (at all stages of drug production)
She would really be interested in finding a training in an english-speaking
country (USA or England). Please note that she has some, albeit limited,
experience in HPLC, TLC, and NMR analysis methods and that this training is
to start in early June of this year.
Would anyone on the list be interested in welcoming this student in his
company ?
If so, please reply to me (matthieu.kaltenbach.-a-.univ-reims.fr) and not to
the PharmPK list.

Sir,
I am doing my research in Pharmacokinetic studies. For my study I want
to cannulate the Hepato portal vein and Inferior venacava. After cannulation
of the hepato portal vein the was alive and at the time of IVC cannulation
or after the IVC cannulation the animal was dead. Pls. give me the reason
for the death of the animal and suggestions to carry out the studies.
Anesthesia used was Ketamine.

There may be several reasons for death of your animals e.g. air
embolism, but I need further informations about the VCI cannulation. In
human beings the Vena cava inferior is only about some millimeters long
between liver and right atrium. Therefore a direct cannulation is
impossible. You should cannulate a femoral vein and place the tip of the
catheter in the heigth of the diaphragm.
Good luck,
