Dear Vesna,
For iv administration of lipophilic compounds (eight-carbon amides) to rats
you may try a 6:3:1 mixture of propylene glycol:ethanol:saline as described
in Eur. J. Pharm. Sci. 6:93-98 (1998). However, this mixture seems to be
toxic to mice. For ip administration of similar compounds to mice you may
try a 25% Cremophor EL solution (best if administered at 37 deg.) as
described in Chirality 11:645-650 (1999). In mice you may also try a 1%
carboxymethyl cellulose or 1% cyclodextrin aqueous solutions as described
in Pharm. Res.16:1582-1588 (1999).
