To the group,
For pharmacokinetics in rat blood volume has become an issue in the past. I
would like to inform the group about an automated blood sampling device
that has been developed by Bioanalytical Systems to collect blood samples
from awake and freely-moving rats during the course of pharmacokinetics or
drug metabolism experiments. Both the collection times and the blood sample
volumes are programmable by the user.
The instument replaces the blood volume with saline in the animal. The
blood is collected in a refrigerated fraction collector. It keeps a record
on the total blood volume collected also. There are other features too. for
more information please visit http://www.culex.net.
