dear all,
we are planning to work with drug interaction and p-glycoprotien.
Anyone can suggest the best site to know about the basics of p-glycoprotien
and we like to know the animal model for estimation of
p-glycoprotien.Please comment

For in vivo experiments you can use the Mdr1a/b knock-out mouse from Taconic
(www.taconic.com) and compare them with FVB (wild type) mice.

Dear Kumaravelu,
There's a lot of literature available on drug interaction and
P-glycoprotein. I haven't come across any website for
P-glycoprotein. Transgenic mice deficient in mdr genes have been widelys
used in the literature for studying P-glycoprotein. There are numerous
interesting review articles on this subject and you might want to start
from there. Alfred Schinkel (Netherlands) has extensively studied
P-glycoprotein and his papers would be a useful resource.
