Dear All,
I want to study the First pass metabolism of one of my compounds in
rats.
Would appreciate if some one can suggest a brief protocol to do that.
thanks.

Dear Dr. Khan,
You can use a perfused rat liver model.

For hepatic first-pass metabolism, you can use in-vitro or in-situ
perfused rat liver model. If the first-pass effect is in the gut, you can
use in-vitro rat inverted gut model. You can calculate e.g. extraction
ratio and quantitate metabolites formed. If you need any reference please
let me know.
