There is an old article on the determination of inulin in biological fluids.
The author is George E. Schreiner and the title of the article is
"Determination of Inulin by Means of Resorcinol".  I am not sure, but I
believe the literature citation is Proc. Soc. Exp. Biol. and Med. 74:117-120
(1950).

The method is a tricky one.  Oneida Research Services offers sample analysis
