Dear investigators,
I am currently researching "lipid emulsions" (eg. Diprivan) used in the iv
formulation of anaesthetic drugs. I am eager to learn how these formulations
accelerate the rate of onset/offset of pharmacologic effect by enhancing the
rate of effect-site uptake & turnover, which in turn accelerates systemic
elimination kinetics & reduces the extent of body distribution of the drug.
I am largely concerned with the physico-chemical properties of these
emulsions and their effect on PK. Could anyone direct me to some references?
