Dear Jay:
You might consider the USC*PACK programs. While they are not
really windows based, they run well in windows 95, 98, NT, and 2000.
They are reasonably easy to use, and are very flexible. They help
with dosing antibiotics also because they compute diffusion of drug
into porous spherical objects such as endocardial vegetations, and
also simulate a post-antibiotic effect. They also compute the growth
and kill of organisms using the Zhi-Nightingale model. They print out
plots and reports of the analyses and the dosage regimen to meet the
desired targets. Any population model can be used, entered, and
stored, as long as it is a linear system with an absorptive, central
(serum level) and a peripheral (if needed) compartment. Creatinine
clearance is estimated from unstable serum creatinine values to
better track the behavior of the drug in changing and unstable
patients. More info is also available on our web site below.

Dr. Jurgen Venitz at Virginia Commonwealth U, Dr. Venitz has several
programs based on spreadsheets which are fairly easy to use, are windows
based, and are extremely cost effective.
