Dear All,
Can anyone suggest various ways of evaluating integrity of blood brain barrier in rodent models.
Warm Regards,

Hi,
You could use radioactive sucrose or inulin as a marker for BBB integrity. You can then measure the
concentration of either using scintillation counting (after homogenizing the brain).
Alternatively, you could also use dyes such as fluorescein or texas-red which can be measured
through fluorescence (after sectioning the brain).
Best,
Rajneet
