Always look downstream for other uses of the plasma. Some clinical
chemistries do just fine with EDTA, heparin others may need oxalate or
citrate. The counter ion is also significant Lithium heparin being
preferred over other salts.

Does anyone on the list know some good computer programs (PC) for
initiating and monitoring anticoagulant therapy (i.e. heparin, warfarin).

There is a program called CoumaCare - if I am not mistaken. It is put
out by duPont. I am not an AC practitioner, but remember seeing this in
use when I was a student. The program was great for tracking patient
information, etc. The AC people I know that used it really liked it.
Hope this helps.

CoumaCare is for tracking patients, not for dosing.

coumacare is a database program for managing an anticoagulation clinic. It is
cumbersome to use . See http://members.aol.com/thertch
