We are currently trying to find a Windows based Bayesian Forecasting
Pharmacokinetic Program that we can use in the Clinical Pharmacokinetic
Service of our teaching hospital. To date we have been using Abbottbase
PKS. We also hope to use this program in our undergraduate teaching
courses.
If anyone either knows of, or have recently evaluated such a program
could you please email me.
Thanks

Dear Rohan:
You can create a shortcut in windows to run a DOS program in
Windows. Our
USC*PACK programs can run that way. They can also run in a client-server
mode so that all the data stays on the server, but the satellite machines
access and run the software. You can look at our web site (see below) for
further info if you are interested. We are also working on a windows
program, hopefully availabie late this winter or in the spring, which uses
the new "multiple model" method of computing dosage regimens specifically
to achieve a desired goal(s) with optimal precision, something no other
software does currently that I know of.
Give me an email if you would like to talk further.
Best regards,
Roger Jelliffe

Check out Roger Jelliffe's USC Pack - it's not Windows based but runs very
well under Windows (at least up to Win95) I've used these programs for
quite a while and they are excellent

Hi!
The best and easiest to use Bayesian forecaster I know of is the ADAPT II
package of programs of D'Argenio and Schumitzky. While the program itself is
free, it requires a Fortran compiler to run. It used to be the Microsoft
Fortran compiler, but it was sold to Digital (Digital Visual Fortran
Compiler). It has an academic price.
The actual program has an extrensive library of models and allows very easy
construction of user-defined models.
Dave D'Argenio is Chairman of Biomedical Engineering at the University of
Southern California. A phone call will get you the ADAPT II disks and an
excellent manual. His office number is 213-740-0838.
All the best.
