Hi

I am attempting to set up a new drug profile for
carbamazepine in Abbottbase for children.  The only
stumbling block I seem to have come up against is
what value the induction rate or induction factor should
be.

Has anyone else attempted or had experience in
building such a profile  for a drug that has auto
induction before in Abbottbase.  I would appreciate any
help or suggestions.

I know that it is not normal to use dosing programmes
for carbamazepine, however this is a special case.

As a first approximation, a "half-life" of induction of 4 days might
be used.  More information may be found in:  Scheyer,RD; Cramer,JA;
