Dear Colleagues:
Several years ago when we were doing PK studies in rabbits we cannulated
the marginal ear veins with an IV placement unit. The unit we used was
called an I-Cath and was made by Delmed Inc. The catheter came with a 19
gauge stylet which was used to insert a 22 gauge catheter into the vein.
The catheter itself was 12 inches long, and threaded down the ear vein,
with the tip lodging in the right heart.
Apparently Delmed is no longer with us and we have been trying in vain (in
vein??) to find a replacment catheter to do the trick. We've looked
everywhere. Does someone have a suggestion?
Thanks.
