Dear colleagues:
We need to evaluate the pharmacokinetics of ketoprofen enantiomers in
camels. Can somebody, kindly, provide us with some of the S and R enantimers
of ketoprofen or else could anybody advise where to buy it from?
Sincerely,
Dr. Ibrahim Wasfi

Dear Sir: I am a veterinarian in Columbia, MO who has recently visited
with a pharmacist who does compounding. He is working with ketoprofen in
a topical form and buys the drug in bulk. I would bet that any
pharmacist could direct you but if you don't have luck locally, respond
and I'll dig up his address and phone number. Good luck! Mary Jolly P.S.
Expect to spend some money- it is apparently quite expensive!

Dear Dr. Wasfi,
I suggest you try Menarini Laboratorios S.P., Badalona (a suburb of
Barcelona), Spain. This company may be able to supply both enantiomers.

Greetings from Mexico!
Dear Dr. Wasfi:
At this time, actually we are carying out some research about Ibuprofen
enantiomers and their esters (pharmacological and pharmacokkinetics
properties). We had to sinthesize four compounds (alcohols and acid R and
S), because enantiomeric pure compounds were not available. At this time
we are trying Ibuprofen analogs, and they are very similar in their
chemical structure to Ketoprofen. In case it would not be possible for
you to get them in a comercial way, we have chemistry technique available
upon request.
Hope this is useful.
