PharmPK - Discussions about Pharmacokinetics Pharmacodynamics & related topics
Hello all;
I would like to make the model based on population pharmacokinetics about
the arterial concentration of lidocaine administered by iv bolus.
Please help me about the modelling of lidocaine or literature required for
the modelling.

Dear Dr. Lee:
The modeling of IV lidocaine, perceived by measuring venous lidocaine
concentrations, has been described by Rodman et al, Clinical Studies with
Computer - Assisted Lidocaine Therapy, Arch. Int. Med. 144: 703-709, 1984.
In that study, a 2 compartment model was used, with the elimination rate
constant being proportional to cardiac index. It was not too difficult to
extimate cardiac index at the bedside (see refs). Perhaps this might be a
starting point for you. I would look forward to discussing this with you
further.
Sincerely,
Roger Jelliffe
