Can someone give the correct silistic tubing size (the internal and
outer diameter) and the Fisher/Dow Corning catalog number that can be used
to cover the PE 50 tubing (polyethylene tubing I.D. 0.58 mm, O.D. 0.965 mm,
Beckton Dickinson). We use the silastic tube on top of PE 50 during Jugular
vein cannulation. Any help will be appreciated.
Regards,
Delwar

In what way do you use the silastic tubing in conjunction with the PE 50
tubing when catheterizing the jugular vein? Where do you order the PE 50
tubing from; I have been trying to find it?

Delwar,
You can use Silastic laboratory tubing (0.635 mm i.d., 1.194 mm o.d., Dow
Corning Corp, Midland, MI, USA). Unfortunately, I don't have the catalog
number for you.
