I am looking for a good "free" computer program that allows to calculate
ED50 or IC50 with confidence limits in pharmacology. Do you or any one in
the chat group would have informations in this topic?
Thank you very much for your help.
Any info is greatly appreciated.

Dear Jean-Marie:
Try the ADAPT II programs from David D'Argenio. They are free, and very
powerful and flexible. His email is
dargenio.-at-.bmsrs.usc.edu
His phone is (213) 740-0838
Sincerely,
Roger Jelliffe

Drs. Jelliffe and Jean-Marie:
Dr Jelliffe's suggestion of ADAPT II as powerful and free software is
quite true, but I wish to point out that you must also have installed
either Microsoft Fortran Powerstation or its successor Digital's Visual
Fortran. If you don't already own one of these fortran compilers, you
will have to shell out $400 or $500 to get your free copy of ADAPT to
run. It is doubtful that you will be able to find any copies of the
Microsoft product left on the storeshelves, as they sold off all fortran
products to Digital about 1 and 1/2 year ago. I know that several users
of ADAPT II have had difficulty getting it to run using the Digital
compiler, but hopefully Dr. D'Argenio at USC has solved this problem by
now.
